A Re-Examination of Henry's Hornpipe |
Jonathan Jensen's tune for this dance is great. It just seems to pick you up and compel you around the floor. Unfortunately, dancers have given the dance mixed reviews. They seem to like it OK, but they do not love it the way I want them to, given how good the tune is. The problem seems to be in knowing when in the music to do what. As always, the dancers are right, so I have tried to simplify things a bit. In this new form, I have found it to be an easy opener for a moderately experienced crowd. |
